Norcross’ Annual Bluesberry Festival & BrewFest
Saturday June 15, 2013
5:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Jones Street, Downtown Historic Norcross
On June 15 from 5pm to 10:30pm, local blueberries, craft beers and some of the best blues musicians in the region are at this year’s BluesBerry Festival & BeerFest on Jones Street in Downtown Historic Norcross. The Iron Horse Tavern will be selling BeerFest tickets; for $40 enjoy unlimited 12oz samples from 14+ breweries offering several taps each – sample favorites like Monday Night Brewing, Sweetwater 420 Brewery, Goose Island and Terrapin Beer Company. At 6pm, Little G Weevil kicks off the evening of free outdoor music – Little G was named “best solo/duos act in the U.S.” this year at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, and tops international blues charts. He is followed by the fast-emerging Mary Raindrop Band and then the always-popular Cazanova’s keep the music “blue hot” until 10:30pm.
Bring a blanket and chairs and settle in for a free evening of excellent music on Jones Street – Norcross is family-friendly so don’t hesitate to bring the kids! During breaks, check out the rest of downtown – the “Burning Sensations” will be smokin’ the strings (and keyboard and drums!) inside 45 South Café and next door, Mojitos’ awesome house band will be in full swing, too. Plus, (assuming Mother Nature ripens this year’s blueberry crop in time) a local farmer will be out with fresh-picked, pesticide-free berries and homemade blueberry ice cream. The Atlanta Blues Society will have cool merchandise for sale, and you can also see The Blue Trees Project next to the Tavern….plenty of great photo opps there to help remember an excellent evening in the City of Norcross.
