Van Adams Jewelers – Snellville business celebrates 30 year anniversary

Van Adams, owner of Van Adams Jewelers, located at 1870 Scenic Highway in Snellville, is excited about celebrating their 30 year anniversary this year.

Van Adams takes pride in serving his customers for thirty years

From humble beginnings, Adams recalled immigrating to the United States with his mother and two siblings as Vietnam refugees. Growing up in the Gwinnett area, Adams attended Brookwood High School and even served for four years in the United States Air Force.

Adams beamed with love and pride as he explained that his role model and mentor is his mother. “My Mom was a deal maker. She had many friends who were in the jewelry business and she loved showcasing various, unique pieces for them and ultimately sold those pieces right off her hands.  In 1986, her passion for the jewelry business grew and as a result she opened Ann’s Jewelry, formerly located on Killian Hill and Highway 78. For 6 years, she built a reputation of being honest, friendly, and customer-focused.”

“After my service in the military, my mother asked me to take over her jewelry store so she could have the opportunity to pursue other business ventures,” Adams reflected. He continued to cultivate his creative talents and knowledge for the next ten years. As the population and commercial growth began to rise in the Snellville area, Adams had the foresight to purchase a house on Scenic Highway that was rezoned for commercial use in 2001. When the property was paid off five years later, Adams took a “hands on” approach to design, build, and develop his existing store that features a myriad of top brands in a state-of-the-art showroom.

Adam shared his greatest accomplishment. “I’ve continued to build on my mother’s legacy. We are a well-established jewelry store that has grown with our community from a small store to a multiple brand jewelry retailer. We have served generations of families as their trusted jeweler for fine jewelry and custom made styles. Van Adams Jewelers is committed to make every customer “feel at home” with our personalized service and our classic to cutting edge jewelry designs.”

Loyal, long-time employees, Leah Hansford and Connie Grady weighed in. “We have eight sales experts that have over 150 years of combined experience in the jewelry industry,” stated Hansford. Grady added, “That is why I chose to work here. We are attentive to the customer’s needs and focused on the details.”

Adams knows that jewelry can hold a special sentimental and emotional value, especially when it is passed down from generation to generation. Adams also recognizes that customers enjoy wearing unique custom made pieces. Adams walked over to one of the display cases and pulled out a stunning sparkling diamond necklace and ring set that he designed himself. “This entire case is made of exclusive pieces that I’ve created.” Brilliant precious gemstone necklaces, earrings, and rings abound. Each one is unique, intricate, and beautiful.

Van Adams Jewelers is also focused on philanthropic efforts in the community, from participating in charity events, to donating to local schools, and organizations focused on caring for those with special needs. Adams even travels back to Vietnam to donate food and to lend a helping hand to various orphanages. “My mother had a motto, ‘always be considerate of those less fortunate than you.’ I’ve adopted it as my own.”

“Our mission has always been a tradition of trust, high ethical standards, knowledge of our jewelry products and services, fair pricing and value to our customers.” Van Adams Jewelers has built a legacy of integrity and trust with their customers. That business practice will continue to bring them success in the years to come.
