Volunteer as a Youth Ambassador in Sugar Hill

Volunteer as a Youth Ambassador in Sugar Hill

(Sugar Hill, GA) October 20, 2014 – The City of Sugar Hill is welcoming all ninth through twelfth grade students in Sugar Hill to help grow and change our city by joining the Youth Ambassadors program.

The City will provide resources to equip students with leadership skills, civic engagement, and volunteerism and open their minds to the importance of education.

“The Youth Ambassador program is something that the City is very proud to offer to local youth. The goal is to engage and educate while also receiving critical feedback from an age demographic that historically has not been involved in Sugar Hill. We hope that as the City grows we can use their input to build a town that they want to move back to as they graduate college”, Scott Andrews, Communications, Events, and Downtown Manager.

The goals of this program are to help students with the planning and implementation of events, obtain tangible knowledge of city policies and businesses, understand the importance of secondary education, receive volunteer hours for high school credit and college applications and work directly with City Department heads to shape change in the city.

Information can be found by contacting Megan Carnell with The City at mcarnell@thecityofsugarhill.com, through Mr. Jones from Lanier High School and Assistant Principal Baker from North Gwinnett High School. The City encourages high school students from both of these schools, as well as home, and alternative schools to apply for this opportunity to participate in our city.
