Youth Sports EXPO coming to Rhodes Jordan Park

(Lawrenceville, Ga., Jan. 22, 2014) – Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation (GCPR) in collaboration with Children’s Health Care of Atlanta is holding the largest sports expo of its kind in the state of Georgia. The 2014 Youth Sports Expo will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Rhodes Jordan Park.

The 2014 Youth Sports Expo will begin at 8:30 a.m. and events continue from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. commencing with the keynote speaker, Brian Jordan, former Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons player and founder of the Brian Jordan Foundation. Come experience firsthand, his power to motivate and help develop a plan for success.

The expo is opened to anyone involved in youth sports, including coaches, team moms, school administrators, athletic associations and churches. Participants can earn 0.4 CEUs by attending the educational sessions covering everything from the new legal requirements of child abuse reporting to sports injury and concussion, safety and background checks, healthy eating initiatives for athletes and concessions, field and facility management, and marketing and advertising. The expo hall will feature an abundance of product demonstrations, vendor giveaways and an impressive silent auction. The Gwinnett Parks Foundation will be holding a raffle for a customized golf cart from All Pro Carts at the event. All proceeds from the silent auction and raffle will benefit the Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation Scholarship Fund for youth sports.

Tickets include breakfast, lunch, admittance to all sessions and expo hall. Rhodes Jordan Park is located at 100 East Crogan St., Lawrenceville, GA 30046.
