There are so many belief systems that are floating around right now. Some folks think the government is in some kind of conspiracy. Many think that this is far worse than they are telling us. While others believe that everyone is being far too dramatic and it’s not as bad as they are saying.
In Luke’s gospel, he shares a story of Jesus, his disciples and a large crowd with him going to the Galilean town of Nain. When they enter to the town, there is a funeral procession taking place.
Then Jesus said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.” Luke 9:23-24

In life, we all feel like we have been cheated at times. We do not always get what we think we deserve. When this happens, we can suffer from resentment.
Recently, churches all over the world observed Good Friday and Easter Sunday as we celebrated the life, death, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. According to the Scriptures, Jesus died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and was raised to life on the third day.
June heralds the beginning of Summer! We are conditioned to think of the Summer as an opportunity to “kick back,” slow down, vacation. We long to get away from the hectic pace of life.
