Snellville residents, “Where Everybody’s Somebody,” along with scores of attendees from surrounding communities, gathered on the lawn in front of the majestic Snellville City Hall at dusk to honor veterans from every branch of service.

August 23, 2014 is a date Dee (Dorothy) Moore will forever hold in her memory. It was on that day the Dacula resident was told she had Stage 4 adeno non-small cell lung cancer. She was shocked. She had never smoked! How could she have lung cancer?

Mayor Judy Jordan Johnson was presented the Shackelford Alumni Achievement Award by LaGrange College during homecoming activities Oct. 22.

The organization No Longer Bound was founded, not surprisingly, by a U.S. Marine who fought in the Viet Nam War. When he returned home from the war, he found that he had a new battle to fight, and this time the enemy was more formidable, more devious,  than any he had ever battled.
