Fitch reaffirms Gwinnett’s AAA Rating
Notes stable operations and favorable debt position

Lawrenceville – Gwinnett County officials learned on August 1, 2014 that Fitch Ratings has reaffirmed the government’s AAA credit rating with a stable outlook. The rating affirmed Gwinnett County’s debt of $19.1 million in general obligation bonds, $806.3 million in water and sewer bonds and $89.9 millionin development authority bonds.

Gwinnett Ballet Theatre might be the oldest performing arts non-profit in Gwinnett, but everything this season is fresh and new! This includes the 33rd anniversary of The Nutcracker, which is the second largest in the metro Atlanta area and a holiday tradition for thousands of families.

SAN DIEGO- Airman Ramiro Alvarez, an aviation boatswain’s mate from Lawrenceville, Ga. and 2009 graduate of Phoenix High School, is serving in the U.S. Navy aboard USS Somerset (LPD 25), one of the world’s most modern, networked, survivable, and transformational warships. USS Somerset is named in commemoration of the September 11, 2001 attacks.

The Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) professionals who make sure Gwinnett children travel safely to and from school every day will receive a token of appreciation as they get ready for another school year. The Rotary Club of Gwinnett will visit the school district’s bus managers and monitors and say “thank you” to the staff members for the work they do transporting  students every day. In expressing their gratitude, the organization is sponsoring lunch for the more than 1,800 staff members.
