It is an annual celebration of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs which was officially founded on April 24, 1890. Each year, GFWC clubs celebrate this important day in their communities by focusing on activities that raise awareness and help fulfill GFWC’s mission to enhance the lives of others through volunteer service. You can learn more about the GFWC at www.gfwc.org.

The GFWC Lilburn Woman’s Club chose to observe Federation Day with a special donation of P.E. equipment to Head Elementary School to help promote participation in sports which encourages good health, self-esteem and development of leadership skills in our local youth. According to an Oppenheimer report, 82% of executive businesswomen played organized sports after elementary school. We are so happy to be able to support our local schools in this way and deliver smiles all around.
