Local Lion receives state award
Snellville Lions Club member Mary Jane Gresham was presented with the Georgia Outstanding Deaf Award at the recent Georgia Lions Convention in Atlanta.
This is an annual statewide award that is presented to a hearing impaired person whose outstanding achievements and contributions are an inspiration to others.
Lion Mary Jane has been a member of the Snellville Lions Club for 16 years, and her club nominated her for her service to her club and to her community. As a former teacher and with a desire to influence young people, she has served many years on the Lions Club Scholarship Committee. In addition to her service through the Lions Club, she has served on the Snellville Days Committee for 26 years. Lion Mary Jane’s service, in a world of silence, has been an inspiration to all who know her.
