Philadelphia Winn Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution visited Washington DC for the 124th Continental Congress

This year marks 125 years of service to our nation for the NSDAR.  The focus of the non-profit organization continues to be on education, historical preservation and patriotism.

The goal for this 124th Continental Congress is to raise $1,250,000.  What our founders built, we must preserve (statement from President General, Lynn Fourney Young).  The goal of the NSDAR during the three year Young administration was to log 10,000,000 volunteer hours in the Celebrate America! campaign.  The total number of combined Celebrate America! service hours from 2013, 2014 and the first 6 months of 2015 have been announced;  the grand total is: 9,963,711!   With six months to go, the President General has increased the total number of volunteer hours to 12,500,000.  The official day to commemorate Celebrate America! across the nation is, October 11, 2015.
dar2440Philadelphia Winn Daughter, Sara Rawlins was recognized for her National 2nd place for Dolls in the American Heritage Contest. Georgia Chapters won nine awards.
