Turner Broadcasting Inspires Georgia H.S. Students at 21st Century Leaders Summer Institute
Over 70 students attend Turner Voices Youth Media Institute

ATLANTA - 21st Century Leaders, in partnership with Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., welcomed over 70 students for its leadership program, Turner Voices Youth Media Institute on June 21st- 26th.

This exclusive, week-long institute is a media-focused leadership development program on the campus of Georgia Tech and Turner’s Techwood campus in Atlanta, Georgia.

turner440TVYMI 2015 Class PicThe diverse group of students, selected from a competitive pool of 21st Century Leaders applicants from across the state are rising junior and senior high school students. The 75 students selected hail from over 50 high schools, 35 cities and 20 counties throughout Georgia. Fully sponsored by Turner Broadcasting, students get a true “behind the scenes” look into the Turner Broadcasting System and its networks, including CNN, HLN, Turner Sports, TBS, TCM, and Cartoon Network. Each day, students participated in workshops, tours, and discussion groups on a range of topics within the media industry. In addition, students participated in panels and mentoring sessions with Turner executives and talent including Turner Content Distribution President, Coleman Breland, CNN Student News Host Carl Azuz, Senior Director of March Madness Live, Hania Poole and Cartoon Network’s Susan Shipsky.
