The Lawrenceville Tourism and Trade Association (LTTA) in partnership with the Lawrenceville Police Department Benevolence Fund and the City of Lawrenceville will host the sixth annual Rock’n Ribville event on Saturday, October 5. Attracting more than 12,000 attendees to the City’s Historic Downtown Square, Rock’n Ribville brings local businesses and Southern barbeque together with live music, arts, crafts and kid-friendly activities to celebrate Georgia’s fastest growing four-year institution, Georgia Gwinnett College. Festivities will run from 1-9pm on the City’s Historic Downtown Square.
Mayor Judy Jordan Johnson said, “Rock’n Ribville is Lawrenceville’s premier event of the year, bringing heightened awareness of the College to the surrounding community while showcasing the local scene to thousands of visitors from all over the South. It is a great event and we are proud to call it our own!”
This year Rock’n Ribville will partner once again with 97.1 The River and Bud Light to broadcast live from the event. The program will also feature U.S. Auto Sales’ Main Stage performances by 76 LCD, the Stephen Lee Band, Psuedo and Shangri-La as well as a ‘Georgia Gwinnett College Hour’ complete with Grizzly Burger Eating Contest. Barbeque vendors will also have opportunity to enter the ‘Best Ribs’ competition.
“Rock’n Ribville is one of Gwinnett’s most well-attended local festivals with over 12,000 attendees,” said Mark Mullin, President of the LTTA Board of Directors. “This event has been very popular as it offers a great atmosphere, excellent entertainment and fantastic food. Events like this remind residents of Gwinnett County and beyond that Lawrenceville is an excellent destination point all throughout the year. We are excited to be celebrating a sixth year of this successful event on the Square.”
