Grayson High School is unique in that there is both a traditional school and a tech school that showcases the talents of a great many students. Those talents were put to work when the GHS swim team came to the culinary students with a plan for hosting the annual Gwinnett County Swim & Dive Booster Club annual banquet honoring distinguished athletes. The annual event is hosted each year by a different school within the county. This year, Grayson’s team wanted an especially memorable evening.

The occasion was indeed memorable with input from a number of tech school departments. Digital Media and Design, Video Production and Television Broadcast, Advanced Engineering, Cuinary Arts, Commercial Photography, Jr. ROTC and GHS Orchestra all played a part in the events of the evening marking one of the biggest multi-department efforts to date. “We were overwhelmed by their generosity,” says Valerie McIntyre of GHS Swim & Dive.
Coaches, Niles Davis and Rebekah Bulloch, praised the efforts of everyone including the swim team members who served as hosts, servers, greeters and clean up crews for the event. “It was great to have this chance to showcase all that Grayson has to offer,” says Coach Davis. “It has been a great event.” Coach Bulloch was also pleased with the efforts that went into the night. “We appreciate all the volunteer hours that went into this event,” says Coach Bulloch. “It has been a pleasure to see them represent the Grayson Community.”
