I took a poll of eleven millennials (ages 19-33 years old) and found they all had quite the rap sheet for some “me” time.
Without further ado, here are the top 5 activities millennials like to do in their spare time.
1.) Millennials love to get pumped
Out of the 11 people polled, 8 of them engage in physical activity. Their answers ranged from plain old working out to hiking. Alongside these answers were walking, Brazilian jiu jitsu, auto-cross, and various sports. Millennials have taken over the fitness industry and have become the most fit generation than those of the past. Millennials are choosing to exercise more, eat smarter, and smoke less, per an infographic from goldmansachs.com.
2.) Millennials love spending time with friends and family
Of those polled, 7 out of 11 said they enjoy spending time with their friends and family. For more obvious reasons than just sheer fun, bonding time is an important aspect of millennials’ lives.
3.) We love our mental escapes
Who doesn’t love getting lost in another world? Millennials certainly do! Since the rise of new age technology came during our adolescent years, we have had the upper hand when the time comes to tune out. Out of the 11 millennials polled, 8 engage in some sort of mental escape. Whether it be cooking, listening to music, playing an instrument, dancing, watching Netflix, or playing games (video games and board games included) we enjoy having fun.
4.) Millennials and the #socialmedia age
It’s no surprise millennials are on social media. Whether it be Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or Snapchat, millennials have a presence online and use it to stay connected with friends and make new ones. (Out of the 11, 2 use social media regularly and 9 use it occasionally)
5.) Out of the ordinary Millennial activities
Although these millennials have a lot in common, some answers separated the bunch. One millennial is an entrepreneur who works on her business, another millennial said she enjoys her spiritual time with God, another said he enjoys playing board games, and another said he likes woodworking…and sleeping (who can blame him? I love catching some good ole’ Zzz’s).
Well, there ya have it folks. Millennials are a bunch of spiffy people if I do say so myself (and I do).
